About the artist
When we were banned from our studio space in March due to the pandemic I brought home cardboard, glue, and other previously discarded bits and pieces and did a number of “collage paintings” on a small scale. This was very freeing and allowed for a spontaneous “making of a painting rather than the painting of a painting” this concept I got from a friend, artist Gerry Hayes quoting his friend the artist Jack Whitten. An interesting way of looking at a type of process I think.
