David Barclay’s artistic style is contemporary realism. His subject matter includes still life, landscapes, and paintings of musical instruments. Barclay began painting in 2003 and his work has been represented by galleries in California, Connecticut, and Vermont, and in the Newport, Rhode Island annual arts festival. In 2018 and 2019, he was an Artist-in-Residence at Chateau Orquevaux in France. “Barclay’s paintings shine with authentic detail. Painting in layer upon layer of thin translucent glazes, he creates an astonishing depth of color,” Christopher Morgan, Owner, Christopher Morgan Galleries, Palm Desert, CA.
